Arizona Democrats - Legislative District 21
Spanning Cochise, Pima, and Santa Cruz Counties
We are a blue stronghold
in a Republican-controlled state
-
LD21 was designed to be a majority Democratic district that is outside of competitive range.
-
Democrats outnumber Republicans by a two-to-one margin.
-
Typically, about 65% of LD21 votes are cast for Democratic candidates.
-
All of our LD21 state legislators are Democrats.
-
Statewide in 2020, we helped the Democratic Party make historic gains, electing President Biden and Senator Mark Kelly.
-
In 2022 we helped elect Kelly again, as well as Governor Katie Hobbs, Attorney General Kris Mayes and Secretary of State Adrian Fontes.
However, Republicans hold 7 of the 11 statewide elected executive offices in Arizona, and they control both chambers of the state legislature.
Our blue majority in LD21 gives us a unique opportunity to boost Democratic 2024 Election turnout and...
Win critical races
Your vote in every race is important, from president to school board. Voting your full ballot for candidates who will work to protect the freedom to vote, healthcare, Social Security, public education, abortion access and more gives us our best chance to expand opportunities for all Arizonans.
Win critical ballot measures
Grassroots citizen-initiated ballot initiatives are one way we can make statewide improvements, no matter which party controls our legislature and governorship. You can help get these measures on the ballot by circulating and signing the petitions and voting for them in the general elections.
Defeat critical ballot measures
Republicans know their policies are not popular with voters, so they use their legislative majority to put dangerous measures on the ballot. You can help defeat these measures by voting against them in the general elections.
Vote out Arizona Supreme Court justices who are failing us
The Arizona Supreme Court has seven justices who are appointed by the governor. After an initial two-year term, they must stand for retention by voters. They then serve six-year terms until they are voted out or reach the age of 70. Justices are not infallible, so it is important to vote out justices who make harmful decisions.
Our LD21 precinct committeepersons and other volunteers are
knocking on doors,
making phone calls, and
sending texts and postcards
so we can...
-
welcome and connect with newly registered voters
-
register new voters
-
encourage infrequent voters to vote
-
grow our volunteer and donor base
-
educate voters on issues and candidates
-
follow up with voters throughout the voting process to make sure they successfully return their ballot
-
notify voters who need to fix problems on their mail-in ballots
We often partner with other LDs and organizations as well as the the state and national Democratic Party to get out the vote, and we work with Field Team Six to register new voters.
